In present time, there are no proven morning sickness remedies. Instead of attacking the main cause of morning sickness, you can use treatments to lessen the symptoms of nausea. Note that not all treatments for morning sickness will work for you. You may have to try each morning sickness remedies to know which treatment is best for you.

With that in mind it is best to consider these remedies:

Lemons

Smelling the freshly cut lemons helps lessen the feeling of dizziness, especially if there are scents that are not appealing to your sense of smell. It will help you get away from the smell bothering you.

Eat small meals and snacks

Avoiding an empty stomach is very important, having a small meal or eating healthy snacks frequently helps you regain energy that you lose by vomiting. Eating 5 or 6 small meals per day, instead of 3 large ones, or eat smaller meals every two hours or so. Don’t ever skip meals if you can help it. Cold foods have less nausea stimulating smells associated with them. If you cant keep any food or liquid down in your stomach, its best to talk to your doctor.

Accommodating food cravings and aversions

There are lots of times that you will crave for a certain type of food, or don’t like to be with crowded places, its best to accommodate what you want in a certain time.

Trying the BRATT diet

Sugary drinks and carbonated beverages should be avoided, instead eat bananas, rice, applesauce, toast and tea. The BRAT diet consists of foods that are relatively bland and low in fiber.

Ginger

Ginger is a good treatment for nausea; this can be in any form, tea, ginger ale, ginger biscuits, or ginger snaps.

Drink water

Drinking water is one of the effective morning sickness remedies. Drinks liquid 30 to 45 minutes after eating solid food, refrain from drinking fluids with your meals. Drinking plenty of water is important to re-hydrate the body. Every time you vomit, you lose essential fluids in your body. If the liquids are vomited, sucking ice cubes made from water or fruit juice will help.

Avoid warm places

Warm places can increase nausea feelings, avoiding them is the best prevention.

Get enough sleep

Getting enough sleep at night make you feel better in the following days. Taking naps during the day is also good, but note that do not sleep right after sleeping. You should get up in bed slowly in the morning.

Avoid fatty and spicy foods

Spicy and fatty foods often cause nausea or heartburn. These kinds of food will make you feel worse; both smelling and eating these foods can increase your nausea. Try eating toast and spreads, dry crackers, cheese and fruit. Eat frequent protein food like nuts, eggs, beans, and seafood.

Stress

Try to minimize stress; some researchers theorize that emotion and stress may also have a role in morning sickness. Give yourself time to relax, visit a friend, and watching movie are all good way to relieve your stress.
