Morning sickness… it sucks! That sick to your stomach feeling that just won’t go away. After a couple of weeks of the morning sickness, you might wonder if there’s any hope for you.

Some of my friends are lucky and it only lasts for a couple of weeks and then they got to enjoy their pregnancy. Not me. When I was pregnant with my first child, I was nauseous and sick to my stomach the whole pregnancy. Every day I was waiting for the shoe to drop and the vomiting to hit – HARD.

I swapped cars with my dear husband. He drove my car and I drove his truck. It was easier for me to hang my head out of the window when I needed to throw up.

The pregnancy was more of a nightmare than a joy for me. This isn’t the way it should be. You should be enjoying this wonderful time of growing your baby and feeling it move around inside of you.

The problem is that most of the conventional remedies don’t work. Prescription medications have potential side effects that can harm your baby. Remember the Thalidomide disaster back in the 1950’s. I don’t want to risk my baby’s health on potentially unsafe medications, do you?

Are you with me? Here, let me show you how morning sickness freedom was discovered by a mom, Mary Kisney, just like us who suffered with morning sickness through her whole pregnancy.

We are not alone in truly despising morning sickness. Mary Kisney had such a rough time with her first pregnancy that when she got pregnant with her second child she was terrified of the morning sickness that was sure to come again.

Before the morning sickness struck, she learned all she could on how to minimize its affects. By the time she was six weeks pregnant she had a plan for dealing with it. Which was a good thing. Because right on schedule her morning sickness started… with a vengeance. She started to do what she learned and was surprised with the results…

The morning sickness went away!

What I Like About The Morning Sickness Freedom remedy

Obviously, the best part about this remedy is the fact that it does not require the use of over the counter or prescription medication.

The tapping technique can be done at any time and any where you start to feel green about the gills. This method is so powerful that it can stop the queasy nearly right away. Cool, huh?

Addressing the root cause of the morning sickness instead of just treating the symptom.

According to doctors pregnancy is a condition that needs to be treated. You and I know that is a bunch of bull. Pregnancy is a normal, natural event that women get to exclusively do. Although, sometimes I wish my husband could ‘enjoy’ the back aches, bloated, hormone swings and waddling.

Pregnancy needs to be seen holistically. It is physical, sexual, emotional and spiritual. Sometimes feeling green about the gills is triggered by emotional issues manifesting themselves as physical problems.

What I Don’t Like About Morning Sickness Freedom remedy

There is only one thing that I don’t like about the program, some of the common remedies don’t work for women who are gestational diabetics, like myself. I can’t have a glass of juice and saltine crackers in the morning before getting out of bed. My blood sugar will go dangerously too high.

She covers a whole bunch of other tried and true nausea relief methods that are safe for us diabetics.

Conclusion: The Morning Sickness Freedom remedy

Even if you are a gestational diabetic the remedies provided by Mary are powerful and effective. Especially the energy alignment. If you concentrate on your baby’s health and the desire to have a healthy, fun and enjoyable pregnancy the Morning Sickness Freedom will be a powerful tool in banishing morning sickness in your pregnancy.

Don’t let morning sickness rob you of your pregnancy glow!

GRADE: A

More than fifty percent of pregnant women are affected by this ailment. Many pregnant women can experience nausea and vomiting during the first trimester of pregnancy and can last until the 12th to 15th week. There are some cases that it can last though out the entire pregnancy.

Morning sickness does not harm you or your unborn baby, but if you experience excessive vomiting it is best to see a doctor, especially if your body cannot keep food in your stomach.

Excessive vomiting is called Hyperemesis gravidarum, and can be harmful for both you and your baby if left untreated. Extreme cases of pregnancy morning sickness or Hyperemesis gravidarum might result to dehydration. In this situation hospitalization is a must, and should not be taken lightly.

Causes of morning sickness

The root cause is not yet determined at present time, but there are theories of possible cause of pregnancy morning sickness. Possible common causes include:

Increase of Hormone

During pregnancy hormone level increases and it is believed that it is related to morning sickness. Estrogen, progesterone, and human chorionic gonadotropin are believed to be the specific hormones that cause morning sickness. Estrogen level may increase by up to hundredfold during pregnancy. It is believed by many scientist and doctors that the great increase of estrogen may be the cause of pregnancy morning sickness. Progesterone relaxes the muscles in the uterus, which prevents early childbirth. It may also relax the stomach which leads to excess stomach acids during pregnancy. Human chorionic gonadotropin is produced by the embryo right after conception and later by the placenta. The presence of these hormones is believed by many to be the main cause of pregnancy morning sickness.

Hypoglycemia

Low blood sugar or hypoglycemia is due to the placenta draining the energy from a pregnant woman. Studies have not confirmed this at present.

Increase in sensitivity to smells

Pregnant women experience increase in sensitivity to smell, as a result the get nauseated of the odors they smell. A pregnant woman tends to be choosy of the odors that surround her.

Detoxifying

The body is detoxifying for the health of the unborn baby. The liver and kidneys becoming more active than usual at the early stage of the pregnancy is an evidence that’s support this theory.

Treatments

Pregnancy morning sickness has no known permanent cure at present, but there are things that can be done to lessen the symptoms this ailment. Treatments include:

Drinking plenty of water

Drinking plenty of water helps rehydrate the body, but it is important to take note that you should not drink fluids with your meals. Drinking of liquid must be done 30 to 45 minutes after eating food.

Eating small healthy meals frequently

You should always avoid empty stomach, even if persistent vomiting occur try eating more to regain energy that has been lost. Eat your healthy meals every two hours or so. It is also best to avoid spicy and fatty foods in your diet, these kinds of foods will make morning sickness worse. Even just by smelling spicy and fatty foods may increase your nausea.

usually ordinary in the 1st trimester. A few discover they’re sick, other women notice that they feel nauseated. Morning sickness can happen any time of the day. Although the name would connote that this ailment simply takes place in the morning time, a lot of women find that it may occur at any time of the day. Most cases of morning sickness in pregnant women take place between the fourth and sixth week of pregnancy and ends until the fourteenth to sixteenth calendar week. Unfortunately, a few women will experience morning sickness all through out their pregnancy. Morning sickness is oftentimes at its worst approximately week’s nine to ten and in the majority it ends by about week fourteen.

Although not often, the sickness can sometimes be dangerous and require medical treatments. This is called hyperemesis gravidarum and it may result to dehydration and weight loss. Whenever this happens, hospitalisation may be required to treat the resulting dehydration. This happens in almost 1% of pregnant women.

It is not recognized precisely what causes morning sickness in pregnant women, though one possibility is that it’s due to an increase in the circulating level of the hormone estrogen.. The degree of this hormone ascends enormously in the 1st trimester, and is at its highest just about week 10, the body then naturally starts to produce little of this hormone later on week twelve. This co-occurs with most forms of morning sickness. It is also advised that emotional strain and environmental shifts could affect morning sickness. These include senses of smell, travel, a few foods, exhaust and smoke. It is thought that pregnant women become more highly sensitive to smells and taste, it’s a natural process of distinguishing harmful things close to us and protecting our unborn child.

Although no treatment is commonly essential for morning sickness, in some cases it can affect your daily life. If you’ve got a morning sickness and it’s interrupting your life then it is recommended that you contact your general practitioner. Your doctor may prescribe some pill to stop the vomiting, but only medicinal drug prescribed by your general practitioner should be accepted while pregnant. It is not suggested to purchase any nonprescription anti-sickness medicines while pregnant. In critical cases your doctor may admit you into hospital so that fluids can tend directly into your vein by an endovenous dripping. This is significant to re-hydrate the body, since severe vomiting may effect in the body loosing necessary fluids.

Some vaginal discharge is normal during pregnancy. Vaginal mucus serves several purposes:

Maintains and acidic state in the vagina to prevent bacterial infection

Washes out bacteria that could cause an infection

During the early pregnant stage, it thickens up and creates a mucus plug inside of the cervix

During the first trimester many women complain of feeling very dry, especially during the first four to six weeks, right after the implantation bleeding. Once the baby has implanted itself into the uterus, your body will begin to create a mucus plug on the inside of your cervix. The purpose of the mucus plug is to seal off the inside of the uterus so that no bacteria or germs can get at your baby.

Typically at the end of the first trimester the vaginal discharge begins to increase, especially when the 'mood' strikes. When you are in the mood your body increases the amount of lubricants and mucus in your vagina. A dry vagina does not make for a good nookie time.

Most women find that vaginal discharge increases when they are pregnant – this is quite normal and happens for a few reasons. During pregnancy the cervix, neck of the uterus (womb) and vaginal walls get softer. Vaginal discharge increases to help prevent any infections traveling up from the vagina to the uterus.

In the third trimester expect more mucus, enough to make your panties wet. Your body is preparing for birth where you will need lots of slippery mucus to help your baby pass through the vagina.

Around the last month of pregnancy you will pass your mucus plug as your cervix begins to thin and dilate. First time moms will most likely pass their mucus plug in the last week of their pregnancy. Second, third or fourth time pregnancy will pass their mucus plug a little sooner. After second and on pregnancy the cervix is much more stretchy and will usually being to efface and dilate a little sooner. This is perfectly normal.

I know of several friends who were 80% effaced and two to three cm dilated for four to five weeks before they went into labor. It is not a sign of when you will go into labor, as much as it is a sign that your body is preparing to go into labor.

Passing Of The Mucus Plug

When the mucus plug passes your vaginal discharge will contain thick streaks of mucus. Accompanying may be a few thin streaks of blood. The amount of blood should be very little and look more like faint spotting. If you have considerable blood coming out of your vagina, contact your midwife or doctor as this is not normal.

I am early pregnant about six weeks and the hip pain and groin pain is awful. It comes and goes. What is causing it?

Abdominal pain, hip and groin pain during pregnancy is all too common. As is an increased vaginal discharge. Most often it is caused by round ligament pain. These pains are the due to normal changes of pregnancy that your body is going through.

Round Ligament Pain Causes

Round ligament pain refers to the type of abdominal and pelvic pain caused by the round ligaments being stretched and pulled.

Female pelvis and its contents, seen from above and in front. Click to see a larger image.

The uterus normally is the size of a small pear. It is supported by a thick net of ligaments. These ligaments attach to the pelvis and lower back. As the uterus grows and changes shape the ligaments are stretched into long thin ligaments, kind of like stretching a rubber band.

As the uterus grows during pregnancy, the ligaments pull on the pelvis and lower back causing pain. Even though round ligament pain is uncomfortable, it is a normal part of pregnancy.

Most of the ligament pain is caused by involuntary spasms of the ligaments. The spasms occur more on the right side than the left due to the uterus’s natural tendency to turn to the right during pregnancy.

Exercise can trigger the pain. Simply changing positions like standing up.

Round Ligament Pain Solutions

Gently massage / rub pelvic area

See your chiropractor for an alignment. With all of the changes in your body during pregnancy your back is getting pulled out of alignment. Getting your back adjusted is perfectly safe during pregnancy.

Soaking in a warm bath. But remember not to get the bath water over 102 degrees as it will over heat the baby and can cause developmental problems with your baby.

Change how you get up, how quickly you rise from a sitting or lying down position. Rising or sitting down more gradually and avoiding sudden movements may decrease the ligament spasms.

Acetaminophen (Tylenol) can be taken to reduce the pain and discomfort. The less medicine you take during your pregnancy the better it is for your growing baby.

Not every woman will suffer from round ligament pain. When you are pregnant your body goes through a lot of physical and hormonal changes. The thick uterine ligaments are stretched thin. The relaxin hormone causes all of the ligaments in your body to relax which is what give women in their third trimester the classic pregnancy waddle when they walk. These changes are natural and unavoidable.

Decreased or no Libido

Hip and groin pain

For a few moms to be, they don’t have any of the early pregnancy signs. My midwife tells a story of a client of hers who had a baby with the midwife. The mom breast feed the baby exclusively at first and then transitioned the baby to solid food and continued breastfeeding as well. When the baby was about a year old the mom came to the midwife and said that her belly was growing but she did not know why. Well, it turns out that she was five months pregnant!

The mom was shocked and surprised. Yet, the mom did not have any of the early pregnancy signs she did not have any odd pregnancy signs either.

Dangerous early pregnancy signs

Here is a list of dangerous signs that may indicate that you are at risk of losing your pregnancy. If you start to experience any of these dangerous early pregnancy warning signs call your midwife or doctor immediately.

Hard Cramping Or Contractions
The only time hard cramping is a good thing is late in your ninth month when it is time for the baby to be born. Anytime before that it is a sign that either you are dehydrated or are starting to miscarry. Lay down on your left side, drink plenty of water. If you are dehydrated, drinking the water will slow down the contractions and they will eventually top.

Vaginal Bleeding
Vaginal bleeding is always a sign of problems during pregnancy. A little implantation spotting is normal. A little light spotting after sexual intercourse is possible if the cervix was bumped. It is always best to check with your doctor or midwife.

Heavy bleeding especially with cramping or contractions is a warning sign that something is wrong. Seek medical help at the nearest hospital.

Even during labor a woman should not be bleeding heavily. Some light spotting during labor is normal as the cervix is stretching, also known as bloody show. Heavy bleeding during labor, before the baby is born, is a sign that something is going wrong with the mother and baby, such as placenta abruption which is life threatening for both mother and child.

Yeast Infection
A vaginal yeast infection, if left untreated could cause preterm labor. As soon as you notice itching, burning, mucus that looks like cottage cheese or foul smelling vaginal discharge call you healthcare provider. If it is a yeast infection treat it with Monostat-7 or the generic equivalent medicine.

Why not use the one day treatment to knock out the yeast infection instead of dealing with the mess for a week? During pregnancy your immune system is suppressed so that the baby can grow safely in your womb. Depending on how severe your yeast infection is your body will need the seven day treatment to completely knock out the vaginal yeast infection.

Sharp Pain On One Side – Ectopic
Ectopic pregnancy is a pregnancy that is outside of the uterus. Most ectopic pregnancies occur in the fallopian tube. The fertilized egg is supposed to float down the fallopian tube and then implant itself into the uterus, but it doesn’t make it. Instead it gets stuck and begins to grow. The fallopian tube is not designed to carry a baby to term.

Ectopic or tubal pregnancy usually does not cause the mom to have the same early pregnancy signs. The hGC hormone level increases much more slowly so that mom doesn’t experience morning sickness, tender breasts, no implantation cramping, nothing.

The sharp pain that you feel one side of your abdomen is blood pooling in the abdomen. As the blood collects in the abdomen, where is should not be, it begins to irritate the colon and intestines causing them to slow down and not work very well. If you were trying to get pregnant or had unprotected sexual intercourse, constipation is an early pregnancy sign. So one would naturally think that ok, she is pregnant.

What is happening is that the mom is bleeding internally. Either from the end of the fallopian tube or the tube has ruptured possibly tearing open the uterine artery. At this point she has hours at best to live unless she gets immediate surgery to stop the bleeding.

It Is A Lose.

After the surgery and mom wakes up from the aesthesia she is going to grieve the loss of her baby. Even though she never has the chance to see or hold the baby, she will be attached to the child.

Husband / boyfriend, be gentle with her, she is hurting both physically and emotionally. Be there for her. Let her cry. She will recount the same feelings, stories and emotions. That is ok. Let her. She needs to.

From all of the moms that I have spoken with that have had either an ectopic or miscarriage, it took them about two months for the emotional pain to subside.

If you are experiencing any of these symptoms or odd signs of early pregnancy talk to your midwife or doctor quickly.

Most women feel implantation cramping about seven to ten days after conception. The key is figuring out when you ovulated.

Suppose you have a fairly regular cycle about 28 to 30 days. You should be ovulating around day 14 to 16. Ovulation generally occurs half way between the start of your last menstrual period and the start of the next menstrual period. Then you should have the implantation signs around day 21 to 25.

What Is Implantation Cramping?

The egg is fertilized in the fallopian tube. Babies are conceived in the fallopian tube. Then the embryo (baby) swims down the tube to the uterus. The trip takes about seven to ten days. Once in the uterus the baby literally digs into to the lining of the uterus.

As the baby digs into the lining is will cause some spotting and a little bleeding. Not like a period. Typically you will see a little blood mixed with mucus in you panties. If you have a heavy flow like your normal period chances are that you are not pregnant. If you don’t begin to see the early pregnant signs, wait a week after the period ends and then take a pregnancy test.

Now that the baby is firmly implanted in your uterus, this is when your body ‘knows’ that there is a baby growing in you. Now your baby making machine kicks into gear. Ok, maybe that isn’t the most romantic picture of pregnancy. Your body now starts to change to support the new baby and you will begin to see the signs of early pregnancy show up in your body.

What Does Implantation Cramping Feel Like?

Implantation cramps feel like menstrual cramps, but not as strong. It is more like a pulling and stretching feeling. When the embryo is burrowing its way into the uterine wall, you uterus will spasm or cramp some.

Shortly thereafter, your uterus will begin shift from its non pregnant position (either posterior or anterior) to being straight up in your lower abdomen and becomes very firm. By the time you have missed your period and the pregnancy test shows positive your uterus is standing straight up. However, the fundus is still below the pelvic rim. It won’t be until the end of the first trimester that the fundus will rise above the pelvic rim.

Don’t be surprised that during the first trimester you feel twinges, pulling, stretching, pain on the sides of your crotch next to your leg. The source of this discomfort is your growing uterus. These symptoms will come and go throughout your pregnancy. You will feel it for a day and then it should go away. If it lasts more than a day, call your healthcare provider to make sure there isn’t something else going on.
